Rory Newman is thrilled to announce the release of his second EP, Mirror Flame, available Friday November 22nd for streaming and purchase on all major platforms. Primarily recorded live in studio, the five tracks on this EP showcase an expansive, organic sound, weaving together elements of folk, country, blues and jazz to create a timeless, kaleidoscopic listening experience.

Soulfully melodic and narrative driven, Mirror Flame exemplifies Rory’s thoughtful, poetic songwriting style, which draws broadly from the folk singer/songwriter tradition of the 60s and 70s. Traversing themes of longing, memory, love and mortality, each song tells a familiar story that transcends time and place.

Binding these stories together is Rory’s singular voice, oftentimes gentle and confessional, quietly inviting the listener into other worlds. Warm arrangements featuring lap steel guitar, double bass and piano are overlayed with shimmering synths and lush harmonies, evoking images of winding roads through open country, boundless skies and vast oceans.
